On August 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of the Rainbow Market in Sun Valley following reports of an individual harassing patrons and making threats.
Upon contact, deputies identified the individual as Richard Burke. During the investigation, deputies discovered stolen property from the nearby O’Reilly Auto Parts, as well as a prescription for a controlled substance that did not belong to him.
Burke was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on the following charges:
- Felony Possession of Stolen Property
- Possession of a Dangerous Drug Without a Prescription
