RENO, NV – On December 4, 2024, at approximately 11:05 a.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 7th Street near Keystone Avenue.
At approximately 11:07 a.m., deputies made contact with the vehicle’s sole occupant, an adult male driver, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. No deputies were injured during the incident.
There is no ongoing threat to public safety related to this incident.
The Washoe County Officer-Involved Shooting Protocol has been enacted, with the Reno Police Department leading the investigation, assisted by the Sparks Police Department.
