WCSO Makes Arrests in Vehicle Burglary and Fraud Investigation at Hunter Creek Trailhead

On September 1, 2025, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Patrol Division responded to a reported vehicle burglary at the Hunter Creek Trailhead (4705 Woodchuck Circle, Reno, Nevada).

The reporting party had been alerted by their credit card company to fraudulent charges. Upon returning to their vehicle, they discovered the passenger-side window broken and two bags missing. The stolen items included two computers, AirPods, credit cards, and other personal property.

Patrol deputies initiated a report and conducted follow-up at local businesses where the stolen credit cards were used to obtain surveillance footage. Additionally, the reporting party was able to track their AirPods to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Wedekind Road. WCSO Patrol, the Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center, and WCSO Detectives collaborated to identify the suspects.

A search warrant was executed, resulting in the recovery of most of the stolen property. Investigators also uncovered a fraudulent document lab containing personal identification, counterfeit checks, a check-printing machine, and other related items.
