Two Arrested Following Methamphetamine Trafficking Investigation by Regional Narcotics Unit

Detectives from the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) have arrested two suspects following a months-long investigation into the sale and distribution of methamphetamine in Washoe County.

On June 23, 2024, RNU detectives, assisted by HIDTA task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 team and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), arrested Fresno, California residents Alexis Gonzalez-Montesinos, 20, and Eva Liset Gonzalez-Montesinos, 23, in Washoe County on multiple drug-related charges.

Alexis Gonzalez-Montesinos and Eva Gonzalez-Montesinos were transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where they are being held on multiple felony counts, including possession of a controlled substance (42+ grams), trafficking a controlled substance (400+ grams), sale and transport of a controlled substance, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, and intent to sell a controlled substance.

During the course of this investigation, a total of 37.61 pounds of methamphetamine were located and recovered. The street value of the methamphetamine seized in this case is estimated to be over half a million dollars.

The Regional Narcotics Unit is comprised of detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, Homeland Security, and the Nevada Counter Drug Task Force.
