On September 17, 2025, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a vehicle vs. motorcyclist collision in the area of Calle De La Plata Drive and that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene on foot.
Upon arrival, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies, assisted by officers from the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Police, established a perimeter and began searching the area for the subject. Within 25 minutes, deputies located the suspect in the hills about half a mile away from the crash scene. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Dennis Graham, was detained and transported to a local area hospital for evidentiary testing related to driving under the influence.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by medical personnel to a local area hospital.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is leading the investigation. Calle De La Plata from Fuggles Drive to Eagle Canyon Drive remained closed during the initial scene investigation from 6:20 a.m. until approximately 11:00 a.m and is now reopen.
Graham is currently booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on the following charges:
- NRS 484C.430 – Driving Under the Influence causing Substantial Bodily harm a felony
- NRS 484E.010 – Leaving the scene of an accident causing injury a felony
- NRS 484E.030 – Duty to render aid, a misdemeanor
- NRS 483.550 – Driving without a valid drivers license
- NRS 485.187 – Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- NRS 482.545 – Operating a vehicle with expired registration all misdemeanors
