At approximately 6:30pm on June 29, 2025, deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stabbing in the 5000 block of Slope Drive in Sun Valley. The victim, an adult male, was found with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.
Deputies surrounded the home, where the suspect surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody.
The victim was treated by paramedics and transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Dustin French has been booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on charges of battery with a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily injury.
The investigation remains ongoing, and there is no threat to the public at this time.
