On September 11, 2025, at approximately 2:05 a.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash at the Regional Public Safety Training Center on Spectrum Blvd, Reno.
Upon arrival, deputies found that a vehicle had driven through several large bushes and into a small tree coming to rest against the bricks of the front of the building. No airbags were deployed. The vehicle was occupied by two adult males during the time of the accident.
Following an on-scene investigation, deputies determined the driver, identified as 34-year-old Reno resident Simon Perez, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Perez was arrested and booked on charges of:
- Driving Under the Influence (1st Offense) Alcohol
- Destruction of Property
The Perez was transported to the hospital for clearance and evidentiary testing. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
