Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF) have arrested a suspect following an investigation into the sale and distribution of illicit narcotics in Washoe County.
On April 23, 2026, NNDTF detectives, assisted by HIDTA task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and detectives from the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU), arrested 42-year-old Jess Zimmerli during a traffic stop in Reno. The arrest was made as part of ongoing narcotics investigations across the region.
Zimmerli was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following felony charges:
- Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (x2)
- Possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl, 14–28 grams)
- Possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine, less than 14 grams)
- Use of ID of another to avoid or delay prosecution
- Warrant for Criminal Contempt (M)
- Warrant for Failure to Appear (M)
During the course of the investigation, detectives located and seized approximately 22.54 grams of fentanyl and 7.5 grams of methamphetamine.
