Human Trafficking Operation Leads to Felony Arrest by WCSO H.E.R.O. Team

After a months-long investigation, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation and Recovery Operations (H.E.R.O.) Team arrested a suspect in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation.

On October 24, 2025, WCSO H.E.R.O. detectives arrested 38-year-old Alexis James Bumpers. Bumpers was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility and booked on a felony charge of pandering.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to combating human trafficking through proactive enforcement, victim-centered investigations, and community partnerships aimed at ending exploitation in all forms.

The investigation remains active, and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who may be a victim of human trafficking, knows someone who is, or has information that may assist detectives to contact the H.E.R.O.
