Mar. 18, 2024. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health and Truckee Meadows Tomorrow invite the media and community members to an in-person event unveiling the latest national county health rankings to learn more about how Washoe County ranks and the health issues facing the community. The event is part of the national County Health Rankings and Roadmaps program, which assesses data annually across a multitude of factors that affect people’s opportunities to live healthy lives, as well as community health outcomes in Nevada and across the country.
After a presentation of the findings, NNPH and our partner Truckee Meadows Tomorrow will unveil a new online community health dashboard that presents up-to-date information on key community health indicators, including mental health, social determinants of health and access to care.
What: Release of County Health Rankings & Roadmaps & Online Community Health Dashboard
When: Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Where: Washoe County Commission Chambers, 1001 E. 9th St., Building A, Reno, Nev. and virtual. Interested individuals can register here.
The community health dashboard is inspired by the Community Health Assessment (CHA) report, a comprehensive overview of health-related statistical and community data, completed every three years to serve as a resource for those working to improve health outcomes. The latest Washoe County 2022-2025 Community Health Assessment, published by NNPH, can be read online.
“The CHA is an incredibly valuable tool for policy makers, researchers, journalists, and even the general public, but it’s dense,” said Julia Ratti, Director of Programs and Projects at NNPH. “This dashboard takes much of the information and data compiled and used for the CHA and updates data sets regularly in a more accessible format, in order to provide the community with the most recent, real-time information.”
Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) is hosting the dashboard on its community data portal, Nevada Tomorrow, alongside dozens of its other community-centric data sets. Data is presented in a visually appealing way, using icons to communicate trends and comparisons quickly and easily.
“This dashboard furthers our mission of providing accurate, timely and objective community quality of life data to our residents, and I couldn’t be happier to be a partner on this initiative,” said Kylie Rowe, Executive Director of Truckee Meadows Tomorrow.
Residents are encouraged to explore the online dashboard and find more information about community demographics and socioeconomic factors, social determinants of health, types of illness-reducing behaviors, and rates of illness and disease, among others.
Registration for the in-person event on March 20 is required and can be done online here.

Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Northern Nevada as the hub for regional Quality of Life data. Originally crafted in 1989 by an Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) committee, TMT started as an “organization of organizations” in response to local research showing Quality of Life as the leading reason businesses relocated to the Truckee Meadows. In the three decades since, TMT has collaborated with business owners, educators, policy-makers, community leaders, and residents in and around Washoe County to define measurable and actionable Quality of Life data indicators, using them to monitor the region’s collective progress. TMT has remained a vital community resource for over 30 years by curating and providing accurate, timely, and objective information needed to prioritize, address, and advocate for local quality-of-life issues.
