Oct. 2, 2024. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) will have the most updated COVID-19 vaccine available to the public starting Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at the main clinic at 1001 E. 9th St., Building B in Reno.
Appointments are not required but recommended. Those who walk-in are not guaranteed to be seen the same day.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older get their annual COVID-19 and flu vaccines. You can get both at the same time. NNPH offers the standard dose flu vaccine (not the high dose).
You can make an appointment by calling 775-328-2402.
“With fall holidays fast approaching and people spending more time gathering indoors and traveling, it’s important to help prevent those around you from getting seriously ill from these contagious respiratory viruses,” said Dr. Chad Kingsley, District Health Officer. “Vaccines are the best form of protection we have against respiratory illnesses, like flu, COVID-19, and RSV, and we recommend everyone get vaccinated to help stop the spread.”
Insurance is not required to receive the flu or COVID-19 vaccine, but those with insurance should bring their card. Parents or guardians are also required to be present if a child under the age of 18 is receiving a vaccine.
More information about the importance of staying up-to-date on vaccinations is available at the CDC’s website here.
