NNPH to host real estate professionals for septic & well presentations

Aug. 14, 2025. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) – Environmental Health Services (EHS) will begin hosting free quarterly presentations for real estate professionals designed to educate those working on transactions of properties with wells and septic systems.

NNPH has regulatory authority over sewage and wastewater disposal, and well construction within Washoe County. Transactions for properties using well and septic systems are typically more complicated due to the risk improper sewage releases can have on the public.

The goal of the presentations (Sign up at this link) are to answer questions and help local real estate professionals educate residents. The events will take place Sept. 8, 2025 and Jan. 12, 2026; both are from 3-4 p.m.

When: Sept. 8, 2025 & Jan. 12, 2026. Both trainings from 3-4 p.m.

Where: Washoe County Administrative Complex (1001 E. 9th St., Reno) Building B, Conference Rooms A&B.

Who: NNPH’s Environmental Health – Land Development Team will host. The presentation is designed for anyone in the real estate field but is open to anyone.

Why: Real estate transactions for properties served by well and septic are typically more complicated and require certain measures to be met to protect the environment and nearby residences.
