NNPH Launches Updated Respiratory Disease Dashboard

Oct 15, 2025

Oct. 15, 2025. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) – Population Health Division has launched a new respiratory illness data dashboard designed to make local data more accessible, transparent, and actionable for the community.

The respiratory illness dashboard, which will be updated every Friday through May, is live and can be viewed on the NNPH website at www.nnph.org/respiratory.

This dashboard offers a user-friendly interface that visualizes key indicators about respiratory illness like flu, RSV and COVID-19, as well as information on respiratory-related hospitalizations and deaths. It’s designed to help people understand the overall impact of respiratory diseases week-by-week and help everyone make informed decisions.

“This dashboard is more than just a data tool – it’s a public health resource that empowers our community to stay informed and make decisions based on real-time trends,” said Dr. Chad Kingsley, District Health Officer for Washoe County. “We’ve worked hard to ensure it’s not only accurate and comprehensive, but also easy to navigate for both professionals and the public.”

The dashboard, which went live following the first full week of the 2025–2026 respiratory season, includes:

  • Weekly updates on respiratory virus activity in Washoe County
  • Hospitalization, death and case rates by demographics like age and race/ethnicity
  • Interactive charts and comparisons across seasons
  • Key messages and public health alerts

The dashboard can be accessed at https://www.nnph.org/respiratory. NNPH encourages residents, healthcare providers, and media partners to explore the tool and use it to stay informed throughout the respiratory season.

Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) is nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making District Board of Health.
