Nov. 26, 2025. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health – Air Quality Management Division (AQMD) is issuing the following notice on the proposed revision of the Second 10-Year Maintenance Plan for the Truckee Meadows 24-Hour PM10 Attainment Area.
As required by the Clean Air Act Section 175A(b) (42 U.S.C. § 7505a), AQMD developed the Second 10-Year Maintenance Plan which was adopted by the District Board of Health on June 27, 2024. AQMD has revised this plan to remove the commitment of a triennial home heating survey due to improvements in EPA’s methodology to account for residential wood combustion emissions.
The draft of the proposed revision of the Second 10-Year Maintenance Plan is available for review in the Public Outreach portal of OurCleanAir.com. Comments or a request for a public hearing on this revision will be accepted until 5 p.m. PST on Dec. 26, 2025, and may be submitted via e-mail to AQMDPlanning@nnph.org or mailed or dropped off to the AQMD office at located at 1001 E. 9th St, Suite B171, Reno, NV 89512.
All correspondence must include first and last name, mailing address, and other contact information for them to be retained and considered. If adopted, the revised 2nd 10-Year Maintenance Plan will be sent to NDEP to formally submit to EPA to be included in the Washoe County portion of the Nevada State Implementation Plan.
Upon receipt of a valid written request, AQMD will hold a public hearing during the District Board of Health meeting on Jan. 22, 2026, at 1 p.m. PST, located in the Commission Chambers, Building A of the Washoe County Administration Complex at 1001 E. 9th St., Building A, Reno, NV 89512.
Oral comments will be received at the public hearing. If no request for a public hearing is received by 5 p.m. PST, Dec. 26, 2025, the public hearing will be cancelled.
