Beat the rush! Back-to-school vaccines are available now at NNPH

Jun 20, 2024

June 20, 2024. Reno, Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) has appointments available now for back-to-school vaccines that are required for children to attend local schools.

To avoid long lines that typically come just before the school year starts, parents can make an appointment by calling 775-328-2402. The main clinic location is at 1001 E. 9th St., Building B, in Reno. Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

“We have staff available right now to administer these back-to-school vaccines without much of a wait,” said Chad Kingsley, MD, MBA, the new District Health Officer for NNPH. “In August, wait times will increase. While we’ll continue to provide vaccines year-round, it’s strongly recommended that you do it sooner than later.”

All school vaccines will be available, as well as the COVID-19 vaccine. We accept all individuals without insurance or ability to pay. If you have insurance, please bring your information with you.

The NNPH clinic can provide vaccinations for the entire family and not just school vaccines. For more information, see our NNPH immunization webpage.

In August, NNPH will host two vaccine events for youth. In years’ past, wait times have been more than an hour. More info on those events will be announced in July. See upcoming vaccine events on our website at NNPH.org/school-vaccines.
