Reno/Sparks, Nevada. March 27, 2024 – The District Board of Health is expected to select a new District Health Officer at its Thursday, March 28, 2024, meeting.
A public interview process with three candidates will be held at the Washoe County Commission Chambers at 1001 E. 9th St., Building A, in Reno, at 1 p.m. Members of the public can watch the interviews in person or stream the meeting at this link.
The new leader of NNPH will take over for longtime District Health Officer Kevin Dick, who is retiring.

NNPH, formerly the Washoe County Health District, held a nationwide search for a new District Health Officer starting in 2023. The board approved a national firm, Berkeley Search Consultants, to oversee the recruitment of candidates, and the position opened on Jan. 8, 2024 and closed Feb. 5, 2024.
More than 90 people applied for the position. Eight candidates were selected to the next round for virtual interviews. Three candidates were selected for in-person interviews, which will be conducted by the District Board of Health on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
