Washoe County Health District meetings to be televised

April 28, 2016. Reno, Nevada. Beginning Thursday, April 28, 2016, the monthly Washoe County District Board of Health meetings will be televised live from the Washoe County Commission Chambers. The meetings will be available for live online viewing on the Washoe County website and on Charter digital channel 193. Meetings will be archived and available at Video on Demand.
Washoe County District Board of Health meetings are normally held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. unless otherwise ordered by the District Board of Health. The November and December meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month. The meeting location recently changed from the Health District conference rooms to the Washoe County Commission Chambers. The Commission Chambers are located at 1001 East Ninth Street, Building A, Reno, NV 89512.
“The Washoe County District Board of Health is dedicated to openly engaging the community in our efforts to protect and enhance the quality of life here in Washoe County,” said Washoe County District Board of Health Chair, Kitty Jung. “By moving to the Commission Chambers and broadcasting our meetings we are better able to fulfill that commitment,” Chair Jung added.
The Washoe County District Board of Health, through the Washoe County Health District, has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Washoe County, Nevada. Its mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Washoe County through health promotion, disease prevention, public health emergency preparedness, and environmental services. The Board of Health is composed of seven members, including two representatives each from Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County, and a physician licensed to practice medicine in Nevada.
