Washoe County Health District hires new Media and Communications Specialist

Reno, Sparks Nev. Jan. 10, 2022. The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) has hired Yeraldin Deavila as the new Media and Communications Specialist. Deavila will assist Communications Manager, Scott Oxarart, in WCHD’s communication efforts and strategies, specifically targeted toward underserved populations with increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.

Deavila has experience in public relations, journalism and crisis communication having most recently worked at the Nevada Division of Insurance as a public information officer, and as a multimedia journalist for the Univision affiliate in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, previously.
