Updated County Health Rankings set to be released Wednesday, April 27

April 25, 2022. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) is hosting the 2022 County Health Rankings and Roadmaps on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, which assesses data, evidence, guidance and examples that influence health and community support in all Nevada counties and around the country.

The event will take place at the Washoe County Commission Chambers at 1001 E. 9th St., Building A, Reno, NV, 89512. It also can be viewed online. Members of the community are encouraged to attend to understand the health issues and progress in Washoe County and beyond.

Who: The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, Washoe County Health District, University of Nevada, Reno (School of Medicine and School of Public Health), Carson City Health and Human Services
Why: The event gives an independent breakdown of health in our community and pinpoints ways to improve it for the benefit of residents.

About the County Health Rankings: The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, is an initiative of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.  The goal of the initiative is to improve health outcomes for all and to close the health disparities between those with the most and least opportunities for good health. Note: The Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office is hosting a media event at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. We have coordinated to allow for media to cover both events if interested. The Washoe County Health District is nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making Washoe County District Board of Health.
