Health District tabs new Communications Manager

Reno, Nev. Sept. 30, 2019. The Washoe County Health Distirct (WCHD) has hired Scott Oxarart to be the new Communications Manager. Oxarart, who started this month, most recently worked at Sierra Nevada Corporation, with prior stints at the Washoe County Manager’s Office and Renown Health.

Please note that WCHD office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Calls outside business hours will be returned the following business day, except in instances of crisis communcation as directed by the Washoe County District Health Officer. Oxarart replaces Phil Ulibarri, who retired.
The Washoe County Health District has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making Washoe County District Board of Health. The District consists of five divisions: Administrative Health Services, Air Quality Management, Community and Clinical Health Services, Environmental Health Services and Epidemiology & Public Health Preparedness.
