Health District offers free Food Safety Workshops on Service Animals

Reno, NV - The Washoe County Health District will present food safety workshops about Service Animals and Food Facilities on January 10 and January 11, 2017. These workshops, which are free and open to the public, are the result of increases in problems and complaints about non-service animals in restaurants, grocery stores and markets. All members of the public are encouraged to attend, particularly those working in the food service industry, and especially those working in restaurants, grocery stores and markets.
At the workshops, Washoe County Health District Environmental Health Services staff will educate participants about how service animal laws affect the restaurant industry, while the Retail Association of Nevada and the Nevada Restaurant Association will present an industry perspective on Service Animals. The workshops will also include Service Animal behavior demonstrations by the Nevada Disability Advocacy and Law Center and Canine Companions for Independence.
The free workshops will be held on the following dates at times and locations listed below:

Tuesday, January 10th: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Location: Nevada Restaurant Association, 401 Ryland Street, Reno, NV 89502

Wednesday, January 11th: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM

Location: Nevada Restaurant Association, 401 Ryland Street, Reno, NV 89502

Wednesday, January 11th: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Location: Washoe County Health District, 1001 East Ninth Street, Building B
