Reno/Sparks, Nev. June 2, 2022 – The Washoe County Health District is hosting multiple public workshops next week to allow for community participation on wood-burning devices and temporary food establishment permits, respectively. See below for information on the Air Quality Management wood-burning device workshop and scroll down for information on the Environmental Health Services temporary food establishment workshop.
Air Quality staff to revise wood-burning device regulations
The Air Quality Management Division (AQMD) has made significant revisions to the regulations governing wood-burning devices. The changes affect all wood-burning devices including wood heaters, fireplaces, and hydronic heaters in Washoe County.
The changes will potentially impact to all escrow transactions and the sale of all wood-burning devices in Washoe County and will take effect on July 1, 2022. A flowchart on how to navigate the updated regulation is available on the AQMD’s website www.OurCleanAir.com.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the new process and get answers to any questions. Any questions or concerns prior to or after the workshop can be submitted to AQMD-WBD@washoecounty.gov.
