District Board of Health upholds recent air pollution violations

Sept. 30, 2022. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Washoe County Health District – Air Quality Management Division (AQMD), whose mission is to implement clean air solutions that protect the quality of life for the residents of Washoe County, had 12 air quality violations it issued upheld by the District Board of Health (DBOH) during its Sept. 22 meeting.

“We pride ourselves in working with businesses to achieve and maintain compliance, and citations for air quality issues are considered a last-result scenario,” said Francisco Vega, Division Director of AQMD. “That being said, we take our compliance obligations very seriously and will continue to educate businesses and residents on air quality regulations.”
