A man who harassed a local college student and then touched himself in front of her, has been convicted of Open or Gross Lewdness. Cedric Jones (dob 2/23/95) began making unwanted advances against a woman attending UNR back in 2023, despite the victim repeatedly rejecting him. A month later, Jones found the woman studying by herself. He offered to show her a different study spot, and the victim, in an attempt to be nice, agreed. After taking her to a different building, Jones sat down next to the woman and started asking her extremely vulgar and sexually suggestive questions. While doing so, he started stroking himself inside his pants.
During trial, one of Jones’ prior victims testified about a similar incident in 2020. Sentencing is set for May 13th before the Honorable Egan Walker. Jones faces up to 364 days in the Washoe County Jail. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
