A jury has returned guilty verdicts against Moises Duran-Bonilla (dob 6/30/77) for both Battery with the Use of a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Battery.
Duran-Bonilla was arrested by Sparks Police officers back in May of 2024, for punching his ex-girlfriend several times and stabbing her new boyfriend three times. The two victims had gone on a date that evening and came home to find the defendant waiting for them. After a brief verbal argument with his ex-girlfriend, Duran-Bonilla punched the woman in the head multiple times and then stabbed the man repeatedly before fleeing in his truck. Duran-Bonilla was arrested shortly after with a black folding knife and bloody clothing in his car.
Deputy District Attorney Jocelyn Ostomel represented the State in this case. Sentencing is set for October 8th, before the Honorable Egan Walker.
