A jury has convicted Keith Riley (dob 3/3/71) on all three counts of Attempt to Use or Permit a Minor, Under Age 14 to be the Subject of a Sexual Portrayal in a Performance, Lure or Attempt to Lure Child with Use of Computer Technology to Engage in Sexual Conduct, and Attempted Statutory Sexual Seduction by Individual Over 21.
Riley sent a message to an undercover (UC) Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit Detective in June of 2023, thinking he was messaging a 15-year-old girl. Over the next several months, Riley continued to send increasingly graphic and sexual messages to the UC. He was ultimately arrested after the pair agreed to meet at a local casino.
Deputy District Attorney Hillary Bunker represented the State in the case, and during trial she highlighted the nearly five months’ worth of messages Riley sent to the UC Detective and the repeated sexual nature of the messages Riley sent to whom he believed was a 15-year-old girl, which continued throughout the day Riley was arrested when he appeared in person to meet said 15-year-old girl at a hotel room. Sentencing is set for August 21st before the Honorable Lynne Jones. Riley faces up to 35 years in prison.
