A Reno woman has pled guilty to Driving Under the Influence, Substantial Bodily Harm after she hit another driver head on.
Amanda Baker (dob 12/1/85) was driving on Keystone Avenue in March of 2024 and was unable to stay in her lane before making a lefthand turn towards Jones Street. During the turn, Baker struck another car that was coming from the opposite direction. On scene, law enforcement noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the defendant, who later was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.319. While Baker had minimal injuries from the crash, the 68-year-old driver of the other car sustained a broken sternum.
Sentencing is set for August 6th, with Baker facing up to 20 years in prison.
