Martin Amba III has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, with parole eligibility after serving a minimum of 10 years, after pleading guilty to Attempted Sexual Assault Against a Child Under 14 Years of Age and Child Abuse.
From the ages of 13 to 16 years old, the victim was sexually abused by the now 30-year-old defendant. The pair became introduced through a local martial arts studio, where the victim was a student. Over the course of several years, Amba groomed the minor victim and subjected her to sexual abuse multiple times. He also sent her sexually explicit text messages and photographs.
At sentencing, Deputy District Attorney Kristina Rhoades represented the State. The Honorable Kathleen Sigurdson presided and imposed the sentence.
