A Sparks man has been sentenced to life, after he pled guilty to Lewdness with a Child Under the Age of 14. Pharrell Shelton (dob 9/15/58) will be eligible for parole after 10 years.
In September of last year, detectives with the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit received a tip that Shelton was messaging with underage children on social media. During HEAT’s investigation, a seven-year-old girl who is known to the defendant reported that he had asked her multiple times to touch his genitalia. A search of Shelton’s electronics uncovered images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including some of the seven-year-old.
Deputy District Attorney Darcy Cameron represented the State in this case. The Honorable Tammy Riggs presided and imposed the sentence.
