Child Predator Given 25 Years

Touched 8-Year-Old Victim, Had AI Nude Images

Feb 17, 2026

A man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, after pleading guilty to Attempted Lewdness by a Person Over 18 with a Person Under 14 and Attempt to Use or Permit a Minor Under Age 14 to Produce Pornography. David Fritsche Jr. (dob 8/19/61) will be eligible for parole after 10 years.

Officers with the Reno Police Department responded to Fritsche’s home last February for a report of an 8-year-old child being inappropriately touched. The defendant and his family were well known by the victim’s family, and the two had interacted for many years. A video recovered by the victim’s father and found on the defendant’s phone, showed him pulling the child’s pants down while she slept and his hand lingering between her legs. Additional forensic analysis of his phone showed disturbing AI generated nude images of females and baby dolls in sexual positions and situations.

During sentencing, Deputy District Attorney Jocelyn Ostomel argued for a sentence of 16 to 40 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections (the maximum sentence), citing the fact that Fritsche’s conduct took place while his own granddaughter was asleep next to the victim and that he chose to record himself, presumably for posterity and/or future use. Defense argued for probation. The Honorable David Hardy presided and imposed the sentence.
