Child Predator Convicted on All Counts

Police Still Searching for Additional Victims

District Attorney Chris Hicks announces that a jury has returned all guilty verdicts against Robert Vasquez, for sexually assaulting children. He was convicted of three counts of Sexual Assault on a Child Under 14, two counts Lewdness with a Child Under 14, one count Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child Under 14, and one count Attempted Lewdness on a Child Under 14.

The case against Vasquez began when the two victims, a 17-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy reported that they had been molested by the defendant when they were children. In interviews at the Washoe County Child Advocacy Center, one victim disclosed that Vasquez had sexually assaulted them multiple times, beginning when they were between the ages of 5-6 years old. The other victim shared that the defendant had inappropriately touched them several times over several years.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Peg Samples represented the State in this case.

The Reno Police Department does believe there are additional victims in this case and are asking anyone with information to please call the non-emergency line at 775-334-COPS.

Sentencing is set for March 25th before the Honorable Egan Walker.
