The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 64-year-old man following a DUI hit-and-run crash on East Golden Valley Road.
At approximately 2:35 p.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of East Golden Valley Road, just past the intersection of Opal Station Drive, for a reported two-vehicle crash.
While deputies were responding, the reporting party advised dispatch that one of the involved drivers had left the scene. The reporting party followed the vehicle and continued providing directional updates to dispatch, assisting responding deputies in locating the driver.
Deputies located the vehicle and identified the driver as Philip Wedin, 64 years old. Following the investigation, Wedin was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility for:
• Driving Under the Influence, First Offense
• Duty to Stop at the Scene of an Accident
The driver of the other involved vehicle was transported by medical personnel to a local hospital with injuries. The extent of those injuries is unknown.
