Sept. 17, 2026. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) will host a workshop for restaurant operators interested in performing special processes in their facilities on Sept. 22, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. inside the Sierra View Library at Reno Town Mall.
The Special Processes Workshop will provide instruction and assistance in applying for HACCP and Operational Plans from NNPH Environmental Health Services and give a roadmap to getting your special process approved.
Many food operators might find this beneficial, especially those who have considered:
- Setting up an outdoor barbecue this summer
- Have patio access for dogs and their owners to sit together
- Extending the shelf-life of some foods by reduced-oxygen packaging or fermentation
