Registered Sex Offender Convicted for Not Following Registration Requirements

Coached at Local Boxing Club

May 4, 2026

A jury has convicted Jasper Jackson Jr. III (dob 4/2/80) of two counts of Failure to Obey Laws and Regulations of Sex Offenders.

Jackson was a previous coach and volunteer at a local boxing club, and the owner was unaware that he was a Tier II sex offender when he was first brought on in 2023. Detectives with the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU) were contacted in March of 2025 by a local community member who was also a volunteer with USA Boxing, after members of the boxing community learned about Jackson’s sex offender status. Law enforcement learned that Jackson had used a fake date of birth and address on paperwork with USA Boxing, had not disclosed to RSONU that he was coaching and volunteering with the boxing club, and was also living at a second address that he had not disclosed.

Between not disclosing to the RSONU that he was participating with the club, as well not sharing his additional home address, Jackson had violated his sex offender registration requirements.

Sentencing is set for June 15th before the Honorable Robert Estes. Jackson faces up to four years in prison on each count.
