On January 30, 2026, members of the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force arrested Devon McMillin, 28, on an outstanding felony warrant. The warrant, issued in October 2024 out of Nye County (Tonopah), stems from a charge of Sexual Assault of a Minor Under the Age of 14.
The arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation conducted by members of the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU), who are also members of the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force in partnership with the United States Marshals Service. While conducting an unrelated investigation involving another registered sex offender, detectives uncovered information indicating that McMillin, a wanted fugitive, may have been hiding in the Reno/Sparks area.
Task Force members pursued multiple investigative leads and ultimately identified McMillin’s location. Once his suspected location was confirmed, a coordinated operation was launched, and McMillin was taken into custody in Sparks, Nevada. He was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was booked into custody. He will be transferred to Nye County to face the charges originating from that jurisdiction.
This case highlights the continued collaboration among investigators and law enforcement personnel assigned to the Task Force. Their work reflects an ongoing commitment to monitoring known sex offenders within the region and identifying individuals who attempt to evade accountability by relocating or hiding within our communities.
The Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit is comprised of members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, Nevada Parole and Probation, and the United States Marshals Service.
