The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a homicide that occurred near Fish Springs Road on the night of January 22, 2025.
On that date, deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of a battery with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male who had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as John D. Allen, 39, of Doyle, California.
This case remains under active investigation by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives. Investigators are asking for the community’s help and encourage anyone who may have seen or heard something related to this incident, or who has information that could assist the investigation, to come forward.
