On December 26, 2025, deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Colin Hartman, a wanted felon, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Spanish Springs.
At approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies located Hartman outside of a residence in the 400 block of Kathy Terrace. When deputies attempted to make contact, Hartman fled on foot and barricaded himself inside a residence with which he was associated.
Deputies established a perimeter around the residence, and a search warrant for the property was subsequently obtained. At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was dispatched to assist with the execution of the search warrant. Additional responding resources included the Hostage Negotiations Team, Drone Team, and the Regional Consolidated Bomb Squad.
Hartman refused all attempts at contact with negotiators. Upon executing the search warrant, SWAT team members located Hartman concealed inside a bedroom within the residence. He was taken into custody without incident.
Hartman will be transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he will be booked on a felony warrant for violation of probation and conditions of a suspended sentence. He also faces felony charges stemming from a separate case with the Sparks Police Department and may face additional charges related to this incident.
There is no ongoing threat to the community related to this incident. This remains an active investigation.
