A jury has convicted Jonathan Delacour (dob 6/7/89) of Domestic Battery by Strangulation, Domestic Battery, and Battery with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault, after he beat and strangled his ex-girlfriend in January of this year.
During the attack, the victim and Delacour were living together when the defendant began hitting the woman during a conversation after he got angry. He then dragged her down by her arm, pinned her to the ground, pulled down both their pants, and ejaculated on her. Later that night, after some more arguing, Delacour began hitting the victim again, and this time strangled her to where she could not breathe, had tunnel vision, and almost blacked out. At this time, he also head-butted her.
During trial, Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Koss showed photos of the woman’s injuries, including strangulation marks on her neck and a golf-ball sized knot on her forehead from the head butt. DDA Koss also shared with the jury a text message from Delacour to the victim eight days after the incident, where he apologized for hurting her.
Sentencing is set for January 15, 2026, before the Honorable Kathleen Drakulich. Delacour faces up to 2-life, with the possibility of parole.
