Suspect Arrested For Battering Store Clerk

On October 6, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to report of a fight in progress at the QuikStop near 1st Avenue and Sun Valley Boulevard, Sun Valley.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that the store clerk had been helping a man, 22-year-old Angel Murillo, inflate the tires on his bicycle when Murillo suddenly attacked the clerk, striking the clerk in the face with the bicycle pump. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.

Murillo was arrested with out further incident and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on the following charge:

  • Battery with a Deadly Weapon

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office thanks the community for quickly reporting the incident, which allowed deputies to respond swiftly and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
