WASHOE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATING HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENT IN LEMMON VALLEY

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a hit-and-run incident in the area of Chickadee Drive near the intersection of Deodar Way in Lemmon Valley.

Two residents were walking their dog when a dark-colored SUV traveling westbound toward Lemmon Drive crossed lanes of travel in what appeared to be an intentional attempt to strike the individuals. The SUV narrowly missed the two residents but struck and killed their 11-year-old dog.

The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision. The victims described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored SUV with blue license plates, possibly registered in Nevada. Currently, no additional suspect information is available.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this incident. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has video surveillance in the area, or has information regarding the suspect vehicle is urged to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division at (775) 328-3320.
