Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Assistance in Identifying Porch Pirate

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a female suspect involved in a package theft that occurred last month in the area of Wedge Parkway and Whites Creek Lane, South Reno.

Home surveillance footage captured a female adult approaching a residence, removing a package from the porch and fleeing the area on foot, commonly referred to as “porch piracy.”

Residents in the area are encouraged to review any surveillance footage captured around the time of the incident and to report any suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles that may be related.

As online shopping and home deliveries continue to increase, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to remain vigilant and take precautions to prevent thefts of this nature. Porch pirates can strike quickly and without warning.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division at 775-328-3350, referencing case # WC25-50451. Information about this incident can also be sent to Secret Witness at 775-322-4900 or secretwitness.com.

We appreciate the community’s continued support in helping to keep Washoe County safe.
