A Sparks man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after he pled guilty to two counts of Robbery. Keoin Paris (dob 1/2/90) has prior Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Receiving Stolen Property convictions.
Back in May of last year, Paris robbed two women while at the Circus Cirus parking garage. When Reno Police officers responded, they found one woman bleeding from her nose and the second woman with a bruise on her face and a cut on the side of her head. The victims told police that they had met a group at a local nightclub earlier that evening. When the women wanted to take their stuff back to their hotel before going to another bar, Paris offered to drive them. Once they had arrived at the casino garage, the defendant tried to grab the first woman’s bag. The second one tried to intervene, but Paris punched her in the face, causing her to fall and hit her head on the concrete ground. He then grabbed the bag from the first woman and drove away. Both women sustained concussions from the fight. Two weeks later, officers found Paris’ car, after identifying it from security footage of the robbery, and arrested him inside a nearby bar.
Deputy District Attorney Aziz Merchant represented the State in this case. Sentencing was imposed by the Honorable David Hardy. Paris is eligible for parole in 6 years.
