A Reno man has been sentenced to the maximum 20 years in prison, after pleading guilty to Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Juan Flores-Falcon (dob 6/30/97) will be eligible for parole after 6 years.
Flores-Falcon was arrested last year following an operation by the Regional Narcotics Unit, who set up a sale for heroin with a dealer in the area. During the investigation, detectives purchased 26 grams of heroin. Later, Flores-Falcon was stopped during a traffic stop and arrested. A search of his car uncovered 45 grams of heroin, and a search of the defendant’s home uncovered an additional 127 grams. While being interviewed by law enforcement, Flores-Falcon admitted to selling heroin in the community, and advised detectives that there was additional heroin hidden in a light fixture in his home. A second search found more than 630 grams of heroin. Collectively, the defendant had approximately 8,280 individual doses of the drug in his possession.
Deputy District Attorney Michael Vieta-Kabell represented the State in this case, with the Honorable Barry Breslow presiding.
