Air Quality to host compliance assistance workshop for new regulations taking effect Jan. 1

Nov. 13, 2024. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – The Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) – Air Quality Management Division (AQMD) is providing notice for a series of workshops being held to provide further understanding of revisions to the District Board of Health Regulations Governing Air Quality Management, CHAPTER 030 – General Source Permitting, approved by the District Board of Health in September 2024 and scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2025.  Revised CHAPTER 030 is available on the AQMD website, OurCleanAir.com, by clicking on the Rules and Regs link.    

The intent of the workshops is to meet with stakeholders and the community and provide proactive outreach, education, and compliance assistance on the changes associated with the implementation of the revisions to CHAPTER 030.

When: Nov. 20, 2024, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Where: NNPH Conference Room A/B,  1001 E Ninth St. Bldg. B Reno, NV 89512.

This first workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Overall changes to the structure of the Source Regulations
  • Reporting Requirement Changes
  • Expiration Date Changes
  • Fee Changes – Actuals vs Allowables

“Air quality regulations can be complex, and we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to help the businesses of Washoe County be successful.” said Francisco Vega, Division Director of the Air Quality Management Division. “With these series of workshops, we hope to provide critical outreach and education and instill confidence with the regulated community that they know how to stay in compliance.”
