Detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force (NTF) and Special Agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Reno Resident Office have arrested a suspect following a months-long investigation into the sale and distribution of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl in Washoe County.
On September 30, 2024, NTF detectives, assisted by HIDTA task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 team, arrested 29-year-old Pablo Doval-Avalos in Washoe County on multiple drug-related charges.
Doval-Avalos was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he is being held on multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance (42+ grams), trafficking a controlled substance (400+ grams), sale and transport of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
During the course of this investigation, a total of 58 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 pound of heroin, 3,500 fentanyl pills, and two firearms were located and recovered. The street value of the narcotics seized in this case is estimated to be over eight hundred fifty thousand dollars.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force is a collaborative unit made up of detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Special Agents and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Reno Resident Office. This partnership is dedicated to investigating and dismantling drug trafficking operations throughout the region.
