NNPH hosting two Back-To-School vaccine clinics

Jul 29, 2024

July 29, 2024. Reno/Sparks, Nev. – Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) has two convenient options to get children vaccinated before the start of school.

Two back-to-school vaccine clinics will be held at NNPH (1001 E. 9th St., Building B, Reno) from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 10 and again on Saturday, Aug. 17.

NNPH is joining several community organizations to offer vaccines that the State of Nevada requires to attend a public, private, or charter school (see list of vaccines here). The COVID-19 vaccine will also be available while supplies last.

“This is a great opportunity to ensure your child’s vaccines are up to date,” said Chad Kingsley, MD, MBA, District Health Officer in Washoe County. “Our staff will work tirelessly to make the vaccine process smooth for the whole family. We’ll answer any questions you have and appreciate our families taking time to invest in the well-being of their family and community. Completing this back-to-school step will help decrease sick days and provide bright learning environments.”

Need-to-Know Details:

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
  • Requirement: Bring your current vaccine records with you – obtain them from your doctor or at NV WebIZ.
  • If no appointments are available, a limited number of walk-ins are welcome but will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Warm weather is expected, and patients could experience longer-than-normal wait times, so patients should eat beforehand and be properly hydrated. Staff will be working hard to serve families as quickly as possible.

There are several other ways to get your children vaccinated. Contact your doctor, or see other community events from Community Health Alliance and other partners here: https://www.chanevada.org/services/back-to-school-vaccinations
