Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam today announced his Office is postponing next week’s planned “We’re Not Looking for Everyone, Just You!” recruitment event.
“The safety of our employees and any of our future employees is my highest priority,” said Sheriff Darin Balaam. “Given the increase in COVID-19 cases in our community and a widespread desire to try and reduce cases, I have chosen to reschedule our upcoming recruitment event to December 8, 2020.
“While we had planned for the event to be available virtually as well, I feel it is important for our recruitment event to also be held in person. As law enforcement officers, we are required to always be available and face to face interaction with our future employees and recruitment team is essential, both to recruitment and to the job. I remain excited about finding Deputy Sheriffs who will build trusting relationships with community members and who want to make a difference in their neighborhoods – just next month.”
