Detectives from the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) and Regional Crime Suppression Unit (RCSU) concluded a lengthy investigation into wanted felon Kenneth Anderson on Friday, December 4, 2020.
Detectives located Anderson in an apartment in the 600 block of Morrill Avenue in Reno. Anderson barricaded himself in his apartment, leading to a lengthy SWAT standoff which closed 6th Street near Wells Avenue and Morrill Avenue for three hours. Ultimately, Anderson surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.
Detectives seized approximately 2.25 pounds of methamphetamine and an undisclosed amount of US currency. Detectives also recovered 12 stolen guns.
Anderson is charged with several felony counts of drug possession and drug trafficking. Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues.
