Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives continue to lead the investigation of a Nevada State Police officer involved shooting which occurred on Parker Ranch Road underneath the I-580 overpass Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
As previously reported a Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Trooper was responding to the report of a hit-and-run traffic collision shortly after 2:30 p.m. The involved Trooper observed the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of a business located in the 600 block of Old Highway 395. The Trooper then identified that the suspected driver fled on foot.
The involved Trooper found the suspect hiding alongside Parker Ranch Road and began communicating with him. After a series of events, an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment and has undergone surgery. No other civilians or officers were injured in this incident.
